Vanilla
Vanilla done right: a warm aroma and a smooth, creamy sweetness.
The warm, sweet aroma of vanilla and a creamy, rounded flavor: nothing more, nothing less. Vanilla comes from Mexico, and today it’s hard to imagine an ice cream parlor without it. It goes with almost everything, though it does just fine on its own too.

Story
Vanilla comes from Mexico, where the Totonac people grew it. For a long time it was grown successfully only there, until in 1841 12-year-old Edmond Albius on Réunion worked out how to pollinate its flowers by hand. Vanilla ice cream was known in Europe and America by the 18th century, so it has no single home.
