Mexican Chocolate

Dark chocolate with cinnamon and a pinch of chili that warms you up at the end.

Dark chocolate and cocoa give a deep flavor, cinnamon adds warmth, and chili gives a gentle tingle only at the finish. In Mexico, chocolate with cinnamon has a long tradition, and chili has kept cocoa company for a very long time. Sweet, spiced and with a spark at the end.

Story

Cacao was grown in Mesoamerica long before the Spanish arrived, and the Aztecs drank a bitter cacao drink, often with chili. After the conquest, the Spanish added sugar and cinnamon. Mexican chocolate with cinnamon, for example from Oaxaca, is still the base of a hot drink.
